About New Mission Organics

New Mission Organics is located in Omena Michigan. Omena is a small unincorporated community in Leelanau Township of Leelanau County in the U.S. state of Michigan.

We are a small 20 acre farm that specializes in organic and sustainably grown hops. Currently we have 6 acres in production with a planned 4 acre expansion scheduled for the Spring of 2012.

Currently we have over 20 different hop varieties in trial and are actively working with the USDA, Michigan State University, Washington State University, The University of Colorado and the University of Vermont. These trials will allow us to determine which hops will grow best under our conditions here in Northern Michigan, as well as many other areas of the country.

We are also to be proud to be one of the founding members of the Michigan Hop Alliance. MHA is an organization that was c
reated to advance the hop industry in Michigan through knowledge sharing and equipment availability. As a member of the MHA, we are now able to take our hops from cones to pellets in a much shorter time.

We are also honored to have worked with several of the best breweries in Michigan including,
Big Rock Chop House, Founders, Kuhnhenn, the Livery, New Holland, Right Brain, Rochester Mills, Short's and Vivant.

New Mission Organics is owned and operated by Brian and Amy Tennis.
